The Creative Commons Network

The Creative Commons Network

Much has changed since the founding of Creative Commons (CC) in 2001. Presently, there are 2.5 billion works licensed by CC spanning over 9 million websites across the internet! (CC, 1.1) It has grown from a grassroots movement to a digital copyright tool that is recognized all of the world. While impressive, this is a complex network of copyright systems spanning countries, languages, and copyright legalities.

  • What does this CC Global Network do/ mean?
  • How are all of these licenses and individual users connected?
  • How do I get involved?
